Learn a Lecture or Charge

Anyone interested in learning a lecture or a charge please contact WBro John Reed or WBro Harvey Travis. There is a group of brothers who meet every month to help one another with the various lectures for all three degrees as well as the charges for each. One of the ways to become more involved is by learning a lecture or a charge and learning the meaning behind the wording. Someone once told me that each of the words were chosen for the lectures and charges which shows that they were intentional, not random. I wonder how many of the brothers ever thought of that and why those particular words were chosen and not others?

Freemason University

A very interesting link on the Ohio Grand Lodge site is freemasonuniversity.com

There are sections for Leaderhip, Management and Ritual as well as Resources, contact information and a blog section similar to this. The site is NOT just for Freemasons but is intended for any person who wishes to improve him or herself in the skills of leadership or management. Some of the sections for Ritual are intended more for us as Freemasons but does help others to dispell rumors and separate myth from fact.

The different sections are geared for computer users and have an audio and video component to each of them. I highly recommend the ssite to any person who wishes to improve heim or herself in those areas.

What it takes to be made a Mason

The question is often asked, "What does it take to be a Mason?" That is obviously a very good question to ask a Mason and is key to a person becoming a Mason. Masonry accepts a good man and helps him to become an even better man, honest and true to his fellow man. Matthew 7-7 provides some very good clues to the concept of what it takes to be made a Mason.
"Do I have to be rich or otherwise wealthy to become a Mason?" No, Masonry regards no man for his wordly wealth.
"Do I have to believe in God?" Yes, you do. All Masons must declare a belief in God, otherwise no obligation (to Masonry or anything else) would be considered binding upon him.
"What do you do as Masons?" We help good men become better men by precept and example. We attempt to set example for other Masons to follow by our actions, deeds and words. We also have fund raisers so that we might be better enabled to support our charities, both locally and state-wide and have an annual pork roast, a Christmas party and an annual fun run located at Waterford Hill climb near Waterford, Ohio.

Stay tuned for more questions and answers.
