The question is often asked, "What does it take to be a Mason?"  That is obviously a very good question to ask a Mason and is key to a person becoming a Mason.  Masonry accepts a good man and helps him to become an even better man, honest and true to his fellow man.  Matthew 7-7 provides some very good clues to the concept of what it takes to be made a Mason.
"Do I have to be rich or otherwise wealthy to become a Mason?"  No, Masonry regards no man for his wordly wealth.
"Do I have to believe in God?"  Yes, you do.  All Masons must declare a belief in God, otherwise no obligation (to Masonry or anything else) would be considered binding upon him.
"What do you do as Masons?"  We help good men become better men by precept and example.  We attempt to set example for other Masons to follow by our actions, deeds and words.  We also have fund raisers so that we might be better enabled to support our charities, both locally and state-wide and have an annual pork roast, a Christmas party and an annual fun run located at Waterford Hill climb near Waterford, Ohio.
